Trying to run VMWare Fusion with a large Linux image was painful on my 2GB Macbook Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz. That’s the max memory Apple documents for this machine, but any Macbook Core 2 Duo (not the Core Duo) will see 3GB — just swap in this 2GB chip for one of the 1GB chips. Vmware now runs a lot smoother.

Couple of helpful pointers:
1. Plastic putty knifes and plastic credit cards just don’t cut it. Either get a metal putty knife or use a the metal ruler/scale I used.
2. You might damage some shielding inside the top cover when opening the case so try to be careful about how far you insert the knife
2. The four screws are of different lengths so make sure you remember which one goes where.
3. Don’t freak out if you forget to connect the 2 wire plug on the front, it seem to be some kind of fan control and if not connected causes that fan to blow at full speed. So it would be obvious if you miss it.

Let me just say I am completely impressed with this little kit to clean computers, laptops, netbooks, etc. I spend at least 10 hours a day on my laptop(Dell d420) and over time it had gotten fairly dirty including the screen, keyboard, and exterior in general. I purchased this kit thinking that it wouldn’t be that great but it would at the very least motivate me to clean up my laptop a bit. Let me just say that somebody finally got a laptop cleaning kit correct! This kit has all of the necessary tools to clean underneath and around the keys of the keyboard, to clean the exterior case of your laptop, and to make your screen look brand new.
It comes with three tips for the end of a pen type device that is used to clean small places (such as under/around the keys of the keyboard) so I will be able to use the kit many time. I did an in depth cleaning job this first time around and did wear out one of the tips pretty good so I will probably only be able to use it one more time effectively.
I really just could not be much happier with how great of a job this did cleaning my laptop screen. The piece used to clean the screen is easy to control and allows you to clean the edges and corners of the screen with ease.
If you need to clean your laptop, netbook, or any PC then this kit is for you. I know its a bit more expensive than some of the other kits but it is well worth the money!

4GB can really make a difference and I am now a believer.
I recently got a new Apple iMac Desktop with 24″ Display MA878LL/A (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) and ugraded from 1GB to 4GB. (2 of these memory chips)
All iMac Core 2 Duo systems have two user accessible slots and may be updated with one memory module at a time. For the maximum performance benefit possible, two modules of the same size can be installed to enable 128MBit memory addressing. This makes the best use of the new duo Intel chips and really speeds things up, esp. when using more than one application. I see a difference esp. when using memory intesive programs like Photoshop or Bryce, and my system is more stable as well.
It is a bit early to comment on longevity, but so far, so good!

This is stand looks awesome. I used it for a trade show along with the G5 iMac and just the setup by itself attracted a lot of attention for its aesthetic appeal.
On the downside, it is extremely difficult to put together. It took several hours to complete and it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to put together without the directions. It’s one of those things where it feels like you have to hold all the pieces together and tighten all the screws at one time to get it right. I also think it’s expensive. I know it’s a specialty item since you can only use it with this one specific computer, but 0 retail is pretty steep.
Anyway, if you don’t need any extra desk space next to your computer and you want a visually beautiful set-up for your G5 iMac, then it’s definitely worth it.
